KIHON: Basics or Fundamentals (A) 5 x Forward (B) 5 x Backward
- Sanbon ren tzuki (Series of three punches) (A)*
- Age uke / mae ashi / gyaku tzuki (Rising sweeping block, front kick with reverse punch)

KATA
- Kanku Dai (to view the sky – big) image link. Most of the elements of the Heian Kata were derived from this kata. The first movement in this kata views the sky, which symbolizes the universe and shows your opponent that you are unarmed. It was Master Funakoshi’s preferred kata.
Physical Conditioning: 2 sets of 20 pushups • 3 sets of 50 sit-ups • 2 sets of 30 burpees
Light sparring: 2 rounds of 3 minutes
Competition: The evaluation will be performed in a competition setting in which student’s performance will be evaluated by an instructor.
